There is an award winning historical summer theatre in its seventh season, Lake Superior Theatre and the Marquette Symphony Orchestra, ending its seventh concert season, both of which were originated and developed in the city’s Arts and Culture Department with the help of community artists, Northern Michigan University Faculty members and volunteers.

Music

SymphonyMarquette offers a vast range of musical experiences for all. From enjoying the Marquette City Band in the Presque Isle Band Shell on a Thursday evening in the summer to seeing some of the world’s best international performers in the NMU International Performing Art Series, you are bound to enjoy great music in a beautiful setting. Marquette has become known as a great summer destination from it’s well established Hiawatha Music Festival featuring a weekend of camping and traditional music in Tourist Park to the newer Marquette Blues Fest in Lower Harbor Park on Labor Day Weekend. Many local musicians both established and up and coming are seen on various stages throughout the year.
