Visual Arts

Experience the visual arts at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center. These classes are open to individuals ages 60+ and cater to a wide variety of skill levels. Participation is FREE to City of Marquette residents, but non-residents are welcome to attend for a small donation of $5 per class to help cover the cost of supplies and instruction.

Classes are offered on the first and third Tuesday of every month from 1-3 p.m. and take place at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center. All supplies are included, but interested parties must pre-register by contacting the City Senior Center at 228-0456.

Performing Arts


Each class will offer guidance on the technical and performance aspects of theatre, from Shakespeare to modern and contemporary acting techniques. Participants will learn improvisational games, staging, character work, memorization and movement. There will also be theatrical outings, where students will have the opportunity to attend live local performances at Northern Michigan University and other community productions.

Classes will take place every Monday starting, January 9 from 2-4pm at the City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center.
